Talking about drugs via AIM

Do any of you discuss drug trades or growing illicit substances via AIM? Are you worried that feds might be reading?

Every message sent over AIM is relayed through AIM's central servers. That makes me paranoid about talking about certain things. I suspect that doing a direct connect might work for cutting out AIM's servers as the middleman. Not too sure on that though.

Do you use encryption?

theres no way they can monitor it

They probably have software that detects certain keywords, so talking in slang would be best.

There's a program you can download that blocks your IP address from others, I'm pretty confident it would work with the AIM servers, you should just make a new screen name to be sure and not give out your personal information while chatting, hope this helps :thumbup:

I'm paranoid as hell. Face-to-face for me if I was to sell illegal substances. If I was growing, the only person who would know was me.

If I'm picking up from someone I don't give a shit. If someone's taking something off my hands they're not getting a text, PM, IM, anything -- and they better not send them either. They can call and meet up or whatever.

Cover your bases, because people won't cover them for you.

I personally stay far far far far far away from any IM programs........too much of a risk,you never know who is on the other end or what they are doing to your computer........:shrug:

well, i think about 90% of my AIM conversations in college were about being stoned, where to get more weed, fantasising about growing, etc. Never had any problem (except my friend pretended to be a cop on the phone once and almost gave me a heart attack)

I agree, as long as you are not moving large quantities you probably have nothing to worry about
