its funny how products like cigarettes that they can store for years and get made in bulk have been affected by the recession isnt it

same as fruit and veges,the recession has made them grow harder too

Sorry to sound like an ass, but youre thinking about it wrong. We are spending less money so they are getting less profit. They have to increase prices to keep their profit margin up.

most of the hikes in prices have been from taxes, which then lower sales.  the actual tobacco company's prob haven't raised the price hardly at all.  the main reasons for the outright tax war against tobacco users is pressure from insurance company's, as well as from the energy market who are jumping on the pointless ethanol wagon of stupidity

when i first started smoking they were 60 cents for a pack of 20's

then they taxed them and they went up almost every second year

the same packs now are 11 bucks

i said i'd quit when they were $4.50

i said i'm friggin quitting if they make em 5 bucks



i've paid the 11 plenty of times

yeah as of april 1st there will be a 156 percent tax increase all across the nation

it's ok I want to quit however the nicotine really does not want me to and has me by the balls I'm hooked on it like heroin but unlike heroin it doesnt so jack shit except keep me from going through withdrawals and going loopy

oh yeah well you can still buy indian tobacco cheap it's great it's so potent they make insecticides out of it one puff is like smoking a carton of marlboros you will vomit and pass out and then hallucinate it's pretty cool actually if you don't die

i quit about two years ago but sometimes i'll have a couple if im really stressing,thats what theyre really for imho

my mate always sat in his room smoking bongs and ciggies and playing video games and web shit and i used to tell him to instal an exhaust fan cause this guy haha he's been off the governments books for over 20 yrs,never worked and never collected the dole,no tax file number or anything,he's sold pot since highschool from his room and to top it off he's still living at his parents home at fucking 42:lol:

2 yrs ago he got diabetes and he's just been diagnosed with emphysema and he had to quit everything cold turkey man,he even quit dealing.

he's up in queensland recouperating as we type

im glad i started working out and keeping fit a few years ago after my accident because i went to a funeral a few weeks ago and everyone of my old school mates looked overweight and i was the only one there that didnt drink alcohol and without bragging i looked fitter than all of them

When I started smoking cigarettes were 55 cents a pack. They're $3.50 a pack usually here. At least last I noticed. I chew snuff wowadays. $2.70 a  can, which usually lasts me about 3 days. The most I've scene smokes go for are $5 a pack. Usually in the casinos or tittybars. Maybe mailorder cigarettes?
