I'd be a mountain or a volcano. You'd be pretty much indestructible, except for that god damn wind and rain over hundreds of million years, and you'd be around forever and get to see all kinds of cool shit. Plus you'd have goats and rams and stuff walking all over you.

And if you were a volcano you could just erupt when you get bored. And if you're lucky, you can kill an entire civilization when you get angry. Fuck you, Pompeii.

Kinda what i was thinking. being a mountain would be sweet. And in the end, you would still get eroded and 'die'.

Nah dude you don't die, you just get turned into sand or dirt and get spread all over the world. It's like being sedentary for a few hundred million years and then getting to go traveling all over the world. Being a mountain, fun times.

Barnacle is an animal, so that's not really inanimate. It would be cool to be one though, you could ride around on boats and whales and sea turtles your whole life. Or you could just suck at life and live on the pillar of a pier or bridge.

Well a barnacle is certainly animate, as it has metabolism etc., but how about a virus? Until it binds with a living cell it is completely inanimate, and even then it is just code run by the cell. Therefore my answer is now Ebola - Zaire strain.
