If you know how everything works from the planck scale to the universe as a whole, then you know pretty much all there is to know.

so you are saying that by knowing what point A and point B is, you know what the entire journey from point A to point B is going entail?

No? I am saying that by knowing the entire journey from point A to point B, you know the entire journey.

I'd recommend knowing first what infinite actually means. Its indeterminable. A quantity that is both unfathomable and at the same time, unknown. The point was, how can you know how much you know......without knowing how much there IS to know?

Its quite impossible to know. We are relative observers, parts of the whole, independent and insignificant to the machine...which we cannot describe or explain.

What a strange paradox! Every warrior on the path of knowledge thinks, at one time or another, that he's learning sorcery, but all he's doing is allowing himself to be convinced of the power hidden in his being, and that he can reach it. Thats why i say for me its not a concept, it points to something that is beyond all things, the source.

It can't be known, we can only Be that, to know infinity would imply that it is separate from you in order to know it, being infinite it can't be separate from anything

Well, the universe isn't necessarily infinite, and it doesn't necessarily contain an infinite amount of variety. Every electron and every proton in the universe is similar, so if you know everything about one electron, you know pretty much everything about all those other electrons as well.

When you go to larger sizes the variety increases, but also then there are a lot of similarities. Every human is different, but all humans share more than 99% DNA. Every solar system is different, but all the stars of the same type has many similarities. Every galaxy is different, but there are a lot of similarities between different galaxies. Scientific knowledge is to a large degree about similarities in the universe.

Science can ultimately not detect what is the same in all things, god particle etc... to detect it would straight away imply it is separate from oneself & measurable, if it was measurable it could be destroyed & what is the same in all things can not be destroyed, as it is eternally ever the same.
If it wasn't eternal then it could not be the same in all things!

The same in all things can not be observable by any means, because who could separate from it in order to see it?

Just remember that your standing on a planet thats evolving,
And revolving at 900 miles an hour.
Thats orbiting at 19 miles a second, so its reckoned,
The sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me, and all the stars that we can see,
Are all moving at 1 million miles a day,
In an outward spiral arm, at fourty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the "Milky Way".
Our galaxy itself contains one hundred billion stars,
Its one hundred thousand light years side to side,
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us its just three thousand lightyears wide,
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point,
We go round' every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions,
In this amazing and expanding universe...

The universe itself keeps expanding and expanding,
In all of the directions that it can whiz...
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light you know,

Twelve million miles a second, and thats the fastest speed there is,
So remember when your feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth.
And pray that there's intelligent life up in space,
Cause' there's bugger all down here on earth.

The last part is the best. Why did you leave it out?

I think one of the best sayings in human life is "get over yourself", seeing the truth of things as they are, as you described, enables anyone who really looks to get over themselves

I see only baseless assumptions here. One half of an atom isn't seperate from another but you can still split it.

if the speed of light was only 1 mile per hour and the universe was only created 30 mins ago we could only see 1/2 a mile.  but the universe is billions of years old and we could only see those billions of years of light that has made it here. beyond that we have no clue what is out there b/c the light hasnt reached our telescopes yet

I find it interesting that in this entire thread about "the nature of relationship" we have had semantics issues as usual, some mathematics, scientific debates...well...*scratches head*

Soooooo...how are those "relationships" going for you guys?

it's like a thread
no effort and it will not get started
no effort from any one else and noone will post the second comment.
maybe the premise gets forgotten, and all you have is is a chain of raw relating.
(devolving to family psychodrama?)

that too is normal.

after any connection is made, a relationship (being the revisiting of the connection) is possible.

what ever is introduced can be part of it.
