anyone know of any nice cheap places to live in california?

ive been looking for apartments in cities all across california, but can't find one for less than 900 a month. im thinking of moving out there (alone) at some point in the nearish future, depending on how soon i get off probation.

does anyone know of any cities that might be cheaper to live in, in california? i know cali is an expensive place to live, but why cant i find even 1 apartment thats under 900 a month... does that not exist there? im looking for no more than 5-600/month.

You'll have to be very far out in the country.

Honestly, there aren't many (populated) places in the U.S. you can live on 500-600/month.  Much less California.

Thats about the going rate 600 to reant out a room at someones house ,you might try to look for those.

That's not true at all.
I don't know about California though, I imagine it's hard to find a place for that much.

cheap and california don't belong in the same sentence. if $500-600 is your price range, you may want to rethink your strategery here. i wouldn't move to cali unless i had at least a couple grand saved up. you might be able to find a little room in some house for that price but you'll just have to get to the city you want to be in and bum around for a while, meet some folks and hopefully something opens up

wrong!!  tennessee.  i live in a brand new 3 bedroom/2 bath house.  1600 sq/ft on a half acre lot.  600 a month.  house cost me 116,000.  california is way overpriced.  there is no sense in shit costing that much.

i also know lots of people that rent decent houses around here for 350-500 a month.

The house before this one was 16,000 fully remodeled ,the payment on a 15 year loan was 202 a month,this was in Alton Ill.

Rent prices follow supply and demand.

If you want to live someplace less desirable you can do it cheaply.  If you want relocate somewhere people actually want to go (like California), you have to pay for it.

Its all a matter or preference.

look harder man they exist for sure

i pay 950/mo in WEST LA, which is wayyyy more expensive than the rest.

look in pasadena/altadena, the san fernando valley, the san bernardino valley, or if ur looking for norcal, try arcata, eureka, garberville, san jose, santa cruz etc

Yes, but there are plenty of populated areas that are cheap.
Especially places that are on university campuses.

im thinking of going to ITT or something somewhere in california, and id rather not live on campus in dorms. id really like to move to california because with my medical history and current medical problems i would be able to get a medical marijuana card. im on probation right now, been through 15 different meds, been hooked on benzos because of the doctors, and marijuana is the only thing that works, but if i smoke it anymore ill go to prison.

this isnt a joke, im not trying to just move there to get a card so i can get high and not get in trouble. im trying to get away from missouri, go to school, and live my life comforably without the threat of prison. not too much to ask, is it?

Try hisperia or Victorville maybe Bakersfield you'll be in the ghetto for that price, unless you move up north like around redding
