hallucinogens, psychedelics or entheogens?

so what do you guys call these things. personally I like to call them hallucinogens or psychedelics. I cant stand the term entheogen.

i think hallucinogens is stupid, theres more to it then hallucinations, and they're hardly hallucinations at all, except for certain things.

psychadelics is my fav, much more descriptive

nobody knows what entheogens are lol.

I call them Psychedelics, calling them hallicinogens is kind of stupid IMO because you're not really hallucinating because what you see is real if you are seeing it.

yeah, i like psychedelics the best. It is more descriptive. I think I say hallucinogen more though because thats what i have been calling them before i even know what psychedelic meant.

i used to have a teacher who called "opium" a hallucinogen,

kind of random,

but it annoyed me a lot.

I call them Psychedelics.  Its just apart of the culture and stuff, when i ask my friends if their down to trip this weekend i usually ask "down to get psychedelic?"

entheogens to me is like saying medical marijuana for marijuans. I guess medical marijuana is more suitable because it can be used for medicinal prposes but it seems like its lube for mainstream non drug users to be more accepting to it.

I really like the word hallucinogen, but find it inaccurate for what it's used to describe. Psychedelic is my standby.

I agree about entheogen; the word sets me off somehow.

I normally ask my buddies if they want to "trip". short and simple. but I usually mix it up and change what I say ever time

Entheogen just sounds more natural to  me. It's like entheogen=peyote(mescaline), shrooms. Hallucinogen=Salvia,  DMT. Psychedelic=LSD, etc

I dont think the hallucinating means that you see something not real. I think its more of seeing something you wouldnt normally see or precieve when sober.

ya. Probably because they are older, and therefore have thousands of years of people tripping on them in culture (like a religious/god thing).

I don't see how medicinal marijuana and marijuana you grow would have any different medicinal affects. And agree with the mainstream idea. It also allows politicians to except it. side note.

I agree with the term psychedelics. I also agree with the word hallucination however i don't refer to psychedelics as hallucinogens.
