Its a 55 gallon, and i have a screen top.Ontop of the screen is my UVB bulb, which runs the whole length of the cage, so i cant put any kind of clear cover over it (water dragons need UVB, UVB is only available if the light is shining DIRECT onto him, not through some other object...meaning glass, plastic, anything) I put tinfoil over the big portion of the screen that i CAN cover, but it didnt help any.

I finally got to handle him today! i fed him 4 little crickets, let him go for a swim then tried to pick him up.at first he ran,4 or 5 times.i was kinda happy he "ran from my chasing hand" cause thats a good sign that he is healthy... but after that i let him go for a minute....

I have a big roll of screen, prob 25 foor long and 3 feet wide.I stood it up, and ran it in a big circle the whole way around my living room, tucking the top into couch cushions, or shutting it in cabinet doors. This way if he decided he was gonna make a run for it i wasnt gonna have to dig him out from under a cabinet, he could roam the whole livingroom cause he was caged in.

So i put my hand infront of him, then picked him up and sat him onto my hand. I went and sat down on the floor and he just sat there on my hand, didnt want to go anywhere else.We sat for a good 20-25 minutes, i pet his head and tried to get him to relax...then got up to put him in his cage.Once i lowered him down, all he wanted to do was run up my arm...but wouldnt go up high enough to sit on my shoulder so i just picked him up and put him back in. Atleast he didnt run or get really scared like i thought he would.

Some pictures for size comparison:

I have a rose hair already.....It doesnt require much of a setup. Mine compared to yours. However I have a little Statue of Buddha inside his tank. All he needs is a little log to hide inside, a heating pad, and water dish.

Here's the Spider Ive decided to raise. Its gonna take a long ass time to grow.....but it will happen eventually. I ordered a little one

Yeah... i wouldnt be caught dead holding a spider like that.

I squish em. Actually ive tortured many of spiders for torturing me... i once fell asleep on my bed back when i lived at my parents house, and i woke up at like 3am and thought i was sweating, i was real comfy but kinda hot and thought i felt a bead of sweat roll down the side of my leg.But then i felt it again, so i kicked my computer desk and made the screen saver go away so i had light...then stood up ontop of my bed. Nothing fell out and i thought i was being paranoid until i took my pants off, held them up, and shook them. This big ass nasty looking wolf spider type guy came plopping down onto my bed.He must have liked how warm it was in my pants.

I was so stirred up i couldnt sleep, my heart was racing. I wont go into detail but that spider had a painful death...

makes me get the chills just thinkin about it

My female leopard gecko always knocks down the Buddha statue in the terrarium. I don't know what her problem is, but she definitely has a beef with the Buddha.

I figured she was just another intolerant brainwashed type.  :justdontknow:

Well, Earlier this week i got a water dragon. My small 10 gallon aquarium quickly turned into a full blown 55 gallon with an amazing setup in a matter of days purely for this guy. I noticed a lot of other people on here had lizards as well but i didnt pay much attention cause i was never really interested until i came upon this guy. I traded a local guy on craigslist some car audio equipment for the tank and stand, it was used for a saltwater tank and was pretty damn nasty when i got it, but after a full day of scrubbing and setting everything up i think it looks awesome in my livingroom.Heres some pictures of my tank and some closeups of my newest family member.

Does anyone else have a waterdragon? He looks like he is browner than he was and i was getting kinda worried cause he is small and new to me but he has been eating fine and i just got all these good lights and stuff for him now so im hoping he likes his new home and brightens up.

Pictures(i bought my girlfriend that new nikon coolpix s60 for xmas so finally found a good use for those 10megapixels):

awesome! i really like your setup and new lizard :sun:

Leopard geckos tend to be one of the least aggressive lizards out there if you take them out and hold them for about 10 minutes a day. Some males get very aggressive during breeding. If you think a full grown leopard gecko is going to bite you, be careful, it hurts like hell and has caused me to bleed a few times. Swavey, if the leopard geckos you saw had fat tails, that generally means that they are very healthy. Their fat tails are pretty much food reserves (fat).

BTW, thanks for the compliments guys

Well...should i be handling my dragon more often?Ive only taken him out of his cage once and he just sat on my hand the whole time, seemed kinda scared to go anywhere.i want him to get used to me but dont want to scare him....should i try to handle him for a couple minutes every day or every couple days?

He is eating fine, i had the larger crickets from where i got him, but we went to a much bigger place a couple days ago and got the small crickets they have, i dont think any have died since i bought them (thanks to you guys and a ton of reading online). He likes the small ones, i can tell they are much easier on him cause hes so tiny.I just fed him 7 for lunch, he ate 4 yesterday, and 7 the day before but i fed him 4 earlier and 3 later in the day.

Its hard for me to feed him twice a day, when i get home its too late and i think its too early in the AM aswell when i get up... can i get him used to eating one big meal a day?Is that healthy for him?

The side of his mouth have definitely gotten worse.I caught him running against the back of the tank today as if he were able to walk into the picture behind the tank.

I put screen in the tank, cause its the only thing i could think to use that wouldn't look ridiculous and still see-through. Do you think this will stop him from running against it since there is something in front of the glass?

His mouth:

I think that screen might only make problems worse, because it's a rougher surface for him to grind his nose on.

And that lip is looking pretty bad man. At this point I'd probably take it to a vet or get some antibiotics. I know you can buy metronidazole and erythromycin, both good antibiotics, at any store that carries fish medication. What I don't know is what dosage you should use and how you would administer it (topical vs oral). I'll see if I can find out.
