I can't even get drunk anymore :kingcrankey:

Back in the day a 40 would get me so pissed I could barely finish it.  Now I drink 4 and still feel hardly pissed.  I try spirits and I get closer but get a day long hangover for trying.

Tried giving up alcohol for a few weeks but it failed.  I've developed a permatolerance.

How long does tolerance last or is it permanent?  Seems the days of getting buzzed off 1 beer are long gone.

Tolerance is in no way permanent. I used to be able to put a bottle of liqour down, after a 3 year break of pretty much never drinking I get drunk off a shot or two. I drink once in a blue moon though.

People with a naturally low tolerance are fucking lucky as shit.  I have to blow fucking 40mgs of oxy as a naive to catch a nod and my douche bag friend catches one off of 10mgs.

I've been drinking since I was a youngin, but am still a lightweight. Relatively speaking, not a lightweight like most chicks or Asian people, but lightweight compared to my roommates.

So it takes 8-12 beers to get me feeling good, 6 or so shots.

Who cares? Its not as if alcohol gives a good buzz anyway. It doesn't get you high, it just fucks you up.  Its a whole lot different than having a high tolerance for opiates, or MDMA "losing its magic".  In my opinion, being drunk is not a good feeling.

I was the same way man.

I've stopped drinking like that though.  I no longer binge drink like that.

I've switched to heavy/thick/tasty import beers and I never have more than 3-4 at a time.  I do that maybe one or twice a week now.

After a couple months of this, I can definetely notice a difference in my tolerance.  If I was to have a case of beer or a bottle of whiskey, I'd be fucked now.

The human body wasn't meant to take a 40oz of hard liqour or shitloads of beer(or both).  It's very hard on us, regardless of how fun it is.

I think I'm doing good, it's been a long time since I've gotten full out drunk.  Just wanted to share that, I'm proud of it :smile:

MDMA has lost most its magic too.

Theres nothing that gets me buzzed like it used too anymore.  Next step would be heroin but fuck that.

Its gonna have to be sobriety and adrenaline from extreme sports.

I'm not bad mouthing alcohol. I love beer. But when I want to get high there are much better choices in the world or intoxicants. Its a last resort if I can't find anything else.

I love being a lightweight. I remember that night I downed a schnapps bottle (750ml i think). It was quite fun.

Ah I thought maybe that was what you were trying to say.  I don't not enjoy alcohol.  But its more of a side-dish for me. I just don't like getting totally wasted, and most wasted people I've ever been around have made complete fools of themselves and regretted it. And when I get that fucked up I puke and feel like hell in the morning. But I do enjoy a good beer or six :chugbeer:.

I drink about 3-5 times a month on average...

2 dark beers will have me buzzed to shit, another one or two and I am drunk. About the same with liquor.

I never go past my limit anymore if I can help it. And I usually only drink good beer or liquor.. no point wasting my time with piss water.
I get drunk and I stop... too many bad completely wasted memories.
I've had enough binge drinking and liver damage to last a lifetime when I was younger..
And I have alcoholics in the family, and friends.. it's not pretty.
Alcohol is pretty low on my list of drugs I like.. in moderation its ok.
