CS Website

Christian Skepticism, 'a reasonable faith' blog, pinpoints Tolle as the most evil man on the planet for his non-faith based teachings.

Well done critical thinkers of CS. :congrats:

CS says, "We are incredulous and skeptical of any truth claim that does not originate from or is not glorifying to the Trinitarian God (Father, Son and Holy Spritit) or detracts from Holy Scripture."

I wonder why they were never skeptical about the scriptures?

OC: How do you know that Scripture is the inerrant Word of God?

CS: Because the Bible tells us so.

OC: And you know that the Bible is correct how?

CS: Because it contains the Scripture.

Repeat until nauseous.

Their logic is flawless.

No, wait, not flawless. The other one. Highly fucking flawed.

this kind of bullshit is why i despise organized religion....its more about control/power hierarchy than god/spirituality

there are ranks in the church

they call people the anti-christ when they have different and non-malicious beliefs

they thump their bibles on street corners telling people they will go to hell for being human

they think "if it feels good dont do it" is an acceptable philosophy....i guess we should stop bathing

they are arrogant enough to think they have been given the written word of god....and they believe that "OC: How do you know that Scripture is the inerrant Word of God? CS: Because the Bible tells us so. OC: And you know that the Bible is correct how? CS: Because it contains the Scripture." is logic

imo all countries should go 100% athiest....all organized religion should be removed.....and we should each form our own beliefs based on examination of tradional religious texts (while the bible isnt the word of god....its teachings are still worthwhile....love, compassion, ect) and examination of modern spiritual writing/teachings (Eckhart Tolle for example)...this way everyone believes what makes sense to them....we'd probably arrive at similar conclusions....and there would be no established religion to start holy wars and steal money from their members

my 2 cents on a perfect religious system

Maybe Tolle should be burned at the stake for his evil deeds.

I agree, but nor for his deeds nor doctrine, but his total lack of fashion sense. :yesnod:

So you agree with Eckhart Tolle?  Hmmm, that's impressive.  What are the keypoints of his philosophy that are intellectually compelling?

Is it statements like this-

It seems that death in perspective to forms dissolving through light that resides in all who want to be involved with a simple desire of purpose will carry forth into the transcendental organic overcoming of the essence of being that humans possess affirms that hope which is the blooming of beauty and then you surrender like a flower.

I think someone was asking where the gurus are today.  Looks like we've found one.

Is guru synonymous with nutter?

I haven't seen OC say he agrees with Tolle.

I think he's more of a tricky dwarf. I kind of liked his first book but the more I read of his stuff the nuttier it became. It's the fame thing. He actually took himself seriously. Silly fool. Didn't he learn anything from Osho?

I only heard of him obliquely till this thread.  He looks like a tricky dwarf.  One thing I've learned, the more something sounds like the truth, the closer I look at it.  The best way to fool anyone is with a lie that's 99.9999% truth.

I spent quite a bit of time believing in New Age nonsense back in the day.  Sometimes I think mushrooms can make some of us believe just about anything.  Sometimes a cynical nature develops after years of gullibility.  That's pretty much why I yam what I yam today.

Well, that an' my spinach.  A-gah-gah-gah-gah-gah-gah.
