b+ slow colonizer???
    #987333 - 10/23/02 05:28 PM (22 years, 5 months ago)

I have 12 jars set up for colonization and its' colonizing rather slowly and in different ways than before like random places. The temp has ranged from upper 90's to low 80's due to the heating pad in my room, i'm trying to get it in them id 80's but a set temperature cannot be achieved cuz my room is like 65 degrees so a heating pad is necessary and i need to turn it on and off so it doesnt get too hot. So im wondering if the slow colonization is sort of normal or it might be my faults in colonization

if your temperature has been in the high 90s, then you may be weakening or destroying the spores... it has been my experience that temperatures that high could prolong incubation, even halt it all together... b+ does colonates well in the mid 80s, 82-86 degrees farenheight... hope this helps,

happy shrooming,

LSAUser, I have a feeling that your slower colonization times had more to do with substrate density (packing it too hard) than vermiculite grade.

Peace
