i didnt say i was expert...just that 5 sec open isnt gunna hurt anything...ive done it 2 times now...once to change lids....and again when i froze my jars...nothing has happen, its been 2 weeks since 1st time, 1 week since 2nd time, im just stating what i see, which is no contam

Do you know what a shot in the dark is ?
That's what you do when you just open a lid in a unsterile habitat, you might be openning the jars in a place infested with mould spores or in place with almost nothing, that's why why use terms as glovebox or hepa filters. My question is, do you want to take any risks ?
Most airborn contams are invisible, so you don't see them or smell them, well you might do, when they germinate and kill your beautiful white fungus. :crazy:
