Almost done...WTF!!!

I have 3 cakes that are almost done colonizing. They were doing SO good! I checked on them yesterday and saw this growing on 2 of the cakes.

Im guessing that this is a contam. I havent seen this kind of contam yet. Is their any hope for recovery? Would dunking it in h2o2 help? I think I should just chunk them but wanted someone elses advice first.

I think that's just aging mycelium. I bet those spots are located near the inoculation points, like where the spores germinated.
Hopefully, new and strong mycelium will cover that portion but yes, you should dunk the cakes first after birth so those spots and the whole cake rehydrate.

Thanks MAIA.! It didnt look like any contam I had seen before. I was going to case this batch. Should I still dunk it before I case it?

Dunking is still a good idea if you case it, extra water means extra yield.
