Yes, as informative as the rest of the site.

I'd like to see a site or paper like this written specifically for mini-culture. Of course the principles are the same, but I wonder if there is a way to micromanage this process without devoting an entire shed or silo to maintaining compost temperature for several days (despite its efficacy, the poo tek seems like something of an oversimplification of Phase II).

You can micro/manage a considerable amount of compost in 2 very large plastic garbage cans, or 55 gallon size plastic drums. Then, rotate it, so - you never run out. It's 4 am here. I need to hit the sack. But, if you want? PM me & I will dig up my notes on a easy -- cheap & effective mini composting system, that works well on a patio, back porch or in a small garage.

Damnit, I knew I should've gone to Penn State.

Wow, that is some fascinating info from Penn State. Mini-Composting might be able to be done in small containers if they are well insulated. I think the idea is to keep the heat in the compost to nurture the thermophilic microbes. Just an overview of that web site, there are 6 stages of Composting

Phase I
1. Heat up (the microorganisms exothermic metabolism heats up the substrate close to 130 degrees or higher. You might be able to keep all the heat in by composting in a well insulated container if you are using a small batch.)
2. Prepasteurization (the temperature of the compost sits idle at around 130 degrees) -(But how long do you prepasteurize, and how long does Phase I take?)

Phase II
3. Pasteruization (slowly heat compost up to 140 F for 4 hours)
4. Post pasteurization (recovery of the beneficial thermophilic microbes, over 4 days at 115-130F)
5. Conditioning (by keeping compost at 115 F, beneficial microbes really begin to thrive)
6. Cooling down (Cool down 5 F each day)

Has anyone tried mini composting in a insulated container?

Just fire up a crock pot, and do it in there.
