I just took a one week vacation, counting on a relative to fill in for me.

It looks like I will be much longer on that camera than I thought. I'll barely have enough to pay my rent because of this epic failure. If only I mentioned to him that if he didn't pick them he had to remove them before they rotted. I have a huge clean-up job ahead of me.

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes and this may not be a direct contribution to your idea, but I am going to be doing some filming. This is not meant to be anything near the quality of what RR has done, but I do plan on getting some nice shots of the techniques I use as well as some information (commentary) about what I avoid doing in my procedures.

My company has a few high def cameras, I have all the editing software and tape decks to capture. I have studio lighting, tracks with a dolly, and a steadycam. Lapel mics, and high def computer mics for voiceover are nice additions. As well as licensed music that my company pays for yearly that will help keep it entertaining.

If you have ideas you would like done, but can not film them, I may be able to do it. I grow edibles of all types, have a flow hood and glove box, as well as agar, LC's, etc. The only equipment I don't think I have is a green house, which I can't get, it's just too big.
One thing high up on my list is a time-lapse of jars colonizing, from inoculation to the point of 100%. I will add a time counter to this video, so a noob at 13 hours in from inoculation will know why there is no growth yet.

This is not something I will start filming soon, it is about 2 months out.

so are you sayin, if we dont have access to a recording device, to suggest trusted cultivator or provin teks to you and you will replicate the tek (on your own time) on film? :shrug:

time laps would be sweet at almost every phase of the mushie life cycle.:mushroomgrow:

Yes, that's exactly what I am saying. I have the means to do almost every tek on here and I'm willing to do them for the good of the community.

Also, I plan to do a time lapse of spawning to a (kinda) monotub all the way through fruiting but I need to waterproof a cam and probably build a small greenhouse to do it right.

Don't think I can do a time lapse of germination of spores just yet with the equipment I have.

Also, yeah even after I start filming in 2 months, it will take me time to edit. I'm not the fastest editor in the world, and I like to make sure things fit together very well.

your withhold information and teks because some people choose to not buy your dvds? Im a firm believer they information should be for the lower class not just the upperclass, what you have to understand is not everybody pirating your dvds is a rich person who can afford to buy your dvd, most are people who want the information but cannot afford it. It seems like a disservice to the community as a whole because some people chose not to buy the dvd, it shouldn't always be about money. If you have new teks, why not share them? instead of just saying you can't possibly make money on it so your just going to bottle it up.

No disrespect meant, just my $.02 :thumbup:

I was going to get a decent one for recording that I could upload onto my computer and render easily. Things are not going good though, I've had unpredicted shortfalls on yields and another major expense that I cannot discuss here. I think the idea was to meet on here to discuss the progress and possibilities for making video.

A photo slide show could be done more easily, because one could get away with using a decent camera rather than a really expensive video camera.

The trick is making the explanations fool proof, and leaving no ambiguities.

True, but my PDA tek wouldn't be the same with just a picture of me eating the potato while pressure cooking rather than the video of it. I'm going to acquire a video camera for my own (presumably sinister) purposes anyway so when I get one I will make myco vids. Hell I may even get one that can take pictures too since my old camera was a POS and is now broken.
