I just wish they'd drop the pretense of whaling for "scienftific research".

I don't agree with whaling at all, in any form, but id prefer they state that whale is an essential part of their culture and diet rather than flat out lying about some bullshit scientific research.

yeah the japs found some loophole from some 1963 law that permitted them back then to catch and kill 1000 whales (back then)

dont the rest of you think or see that this proves the japs have not changed since ww2 and never really learnt the lesson about there being four suns in one great day?

i think north korea was a kind of safe haven for the jap military elite after ww2 and when the going gets tough theyll link up in the future.

I find it vaguely amusing that Americans, Canadians, and Europeans killed tens of millions of whales over decades, almost hunting many species to extinction.

But the Japanese want to kill 100 a year and it's a crime against nature.

a problem with japan from the 2nd WW to today is their inherent budhhism, they think of themselves as nothing better than a bug and they cant fathom other cultures how we cling to life, at least some of us,  so they behead people or kill all kinds of things it means nothing to them, they are hard wired in  a certain mentality  and it will not change....

the ships there tageting their going after a group of ships with a couple ships out fitted with harpoons and get the whale when they come the surface. their only killing whales. this has nothing to do with commercial fishing practices.

While i would participate in the sea shepards, just for fun, since it looks like a blast, I have no problem with them killing whales, as long as they use it all...the ones they are after are not endangered, if so, i would be more upset...sure woudl be fun to be a 'pirate' sorta.

our commandos went up into the japanese harbor and blew two ships up and escaped under their noses,they were sent on a second mission and the japs caught them and fed them alive to sharks and murdered them

our men returning from fighting in africa and europe for rest were diverted str8 to kokoda to fend off the advancing evil japs

your navy was just lucky it ran into a jap carrier in the pacific that wasnt prepared to fight another navy

Seriously though, aren't we getting a little worked up? I think that whaling is wrong, but the sea-shepherds are a little extreme in their methods. Greenpeace, for example, uses non-violent methods, and still makes great progress. Just my 1/50 of a dollar.
