what for? Crimes against humanity? It was a military target. Japan got what came to them for Pearl Harbor in two packages called fat man and little boy.

Oh, that third wave of attack fighters were suppose to hit a oil,fuel depot that supply the western fleet of ships and it was just a little north east. If that was destroy it is argued how the island hopping battles would have been done.

Though I am not entirely against the use of the atomic bombs, your logic is absurd.

They hit a military target, so we hit 2 cities that have litte strategic purpose? Doesn't make sense.

you really need to read more history.

I suggest you do a google search on why Japan attacked us...to begin with.

The Japanese thought that all the American Aircraft Carriers were in Pearl Harbor...they weren't.
They realized this after they had already started the attack inside the harbor.

If they had destroyed more of the American fleet at Pearl Harbor they would have brought their fleet into Hawaii and took it over.

My father was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked.
He was injured that day...badly burned.
He died in 1994....he was 77.
My parents were in their 40's when they had me.

Another interesting tidbit for you...
The Japanese landed in Alaska and fought on American soil.

all the nazi leaders were executed but lots of jap generals and the emperor were let off scott free

it wasnt an unconditional surrender,thats what i learnt on the history channel

Einstein was really dissapointed with himself that he told them the secrets of nuclear fusion. When he wanted to use fission for energy production. He said it's not to be used for destructive purposes. Did they listen? No. You don't not listen to Einstein. That's bad juju.

Killing doesn't have to do with smart or dumb, it has to do with wrong or right. Kissinger was one of the most intelligent men to ever be part of the US gov't, but his morals were not quite up to par, in my opinion.

I think I have heard the following explanation for Japan's attack on America:

Japan and America were butting heads over oil and Japan's expansionism. Japan was pissed. Japanese leaders knew that they could probably not militarily defeat America completely. But, they surmised that they could put enough of a dent in America's Pacific Ocean military power so that America would back off and Japan would have free reign in Asia and the Pacific.

He was an outspoken critic of the use and possession of nuclear weapons as well. So much so that the FBI kept an eye on him.....

Regarding Einstein:

He was on a trip outside Germany. He was on his way back when he saw an ad in a newspaper that the German government was selling his boat. Turns out they had seized his property because he was Jewish, and they would probably have sent him to the gettos had he been at home. He was already pretty much academically discredited in Germany. The Nazi government wasn't interested in relativity; they considered it "Jewish science." He decided not to go back, obviously, and he came to America.


He was not one of the world's foremost experts on fission, but he was aware of the possibility of a nuclear weapons and that the German government was researching this, so he sent a letter to the president urging him to start a nuclear weapons program in the U.S. in hopes that we would beat Germany to the punch. He was not included in the project because he was considered a security risk.
