Deoderant - What the Fuck

I really wish I knew what it was in certain deoderants that just fucks my skin right up.  I use a gillete gel normally and have no problems.  But I had received a gift box of my favorite cologne for Christmas and it had a sample of their deoderant in there, and after using it for a few days my pits are red and sting like hell whenever anything touches them.

Even my regular deoderant burns.

Old Spice does the same thing to me.

I don't understand it.

Both contain the same basic active ingredient: aluminum zirconium *chlorohydrex.  My guess is that you are allergic to an added dye, scent, or alcohol.

i use dot get the same thing, especially after exercise when my sweat glands were open, now i use an organic roll on with hemp oil & mineral salts in it

Works great!

any problems with anything & the answer is go organic

i havent used deoderant in ages.

when i start to get a little stinky in the pits i just take a wet cloth and wipe them good.  works just fine.

The Burts Bees spray is the best smelling and least irritating B.O. Juice I have found. No crazy odor, and it works great.

yeah, i used to sweat like a lil' piggy when i wore old spice... i kept putting on more and more and more to no effect.

stopped wearing deodorant for a bit and then switched to an organic brand free of aluminum and all the other harmful shit and i stopped sweating profusely.

i have a natural smell about me now, it's not strong... but the women i've been with since i've switched seem to be drawn to it and comment how they like my scent.

I have the same issues with deodorant. I am down to buying some hippie salt water stuff... Crytal salts or something. It works prety well, and there is ZERO irritation.

It's the same concept as the salt rock thing... they just pre-mix it with water and put it in a spray bottle for me. :smile:

It works, but you still get normal BO stank after awhile... but even then it seems to be real light. Anything is better than pink, itchy armpits that burn. :shrug:

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't need deodorant.  When I start to smell I just have a shower, its pretty simple, hehe.

I find it funny when I tell people I don't use deodorant and they say "that's gross" or something like that.  Then I'm like, hey have I ever smelt bad?  And they say no, you smell great.

The best tho is when girls say you smell good, must be your deodorant or cologne, and I say nope, its just me.

I'm to the point where that's how I roll 90% of the time. The only time being when I'm serving the public and I'm going to sweat a lot. The thing with natural smell is that it's just like cologne in a sense, a lot of people may love the smell, but there's going to be a few who are going to be turned off by the odor or their perception of it's strength.

But it's more socially acceptable to overdo or have poor cologne :shrug:

the only times i smell is towards the end of work, after exercising or working around the apartment/garden.  all of which is normal and i just shower afterwards.

Yes, that shit is dank. That's what I use.

When I switched to a cleaner diet, I stopped having nasty BO. Antiperspirants are unnecessary if you sit in a sauna and good nutrition will keep you from being nasty.

I stopped using deodorant a couple years ago.  I use baking soda instead.  A small pile, mixed with a little bit of water in the palm, and presto! 

It works until you wash it off.  I get pretty bad pit smell if I don't shower for a couple days; however, if I put some good ol soda under the pits after a shower, I can go for days without smelling.

Stuff works great on hair and face too.  After washing my hair with it I usually do a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse (like 1 tbsp/cup).  I have been doing this for years now, and it seems that the longer I go, the less often I need to wash my hair.  I haven't washed my hair in like a month (still go through the motions every time I shower, just without shampoo) and it is clean, soft, and not greasy at all.  If I start getting a little dandruff I just add some honey and lavender oil to the vineger rinse.

I've gotta say how blown away I am with how many people on this site, and this forum in particular, are into this stuff. I'm older then most of you, and ten years ago, I was considered the wacko in the group because I was so into this stuff.

Shrooms and weed made me SO much more sensitive to what was going on with my body, where it seems to dull the same senses in others :shrug:

Glad to see this, it's a blessing and a hoot to talk with you guys about this stuff  :super:

Ive used that Toms bs and that shit irritated the hell out of my pits!  Now Im back on the govt. shit.  Anyone have any good recommendations PM me as I prob wont see this thread again for a while and I really want to get back on something thats not fucking my brain up.  THX
