agar container?

I've been using mason jars to PC my agar, but I think a flask is in the works. Most recipes call for 500ml of water, but I know i've seen someone pouring from an erlenmeyer flask, one that looked like a 500ml flask? does anyone use erlen. flasks, for their agar? should I buy a 500ml, or 1000ml? suggestions appreciated.

I use an erlanmeyer flask for my agar. I have a 500 ml one. Works good for me. If you want to make larger amounts of agar get a 1000 ml one. I stuff the opening with rolled cotton and then cover with alum foil.

if you're going to pc in the flask make sure it will hold more volume than you plan on making. for example, don't make more than 300ml. in a 500ml. flask. i'm probably pointing out the obvious but i thought i'd mention.

however, expensive labware is not strictly necessary.
liter bottles formerly filled w/ the quality spirit crown royal work admirably.
or any small mouthed glass bottle for that matter.

it was replied to me. i hate getting my mailbox filled with junk that has nothing whatsoever to do with me. i get enough spam as it is.

Here is what I use , I do not know if you have access to this type of container .
I simply put agar mix into presterilized water , put into ac , pour as needed , store in fridge , reheat and reuse when ready . To vent during ac , inserted a catheter into rubber cork , to reuse bottle , clean change cork due to hole from catheter .
Holds 250 ml , just enough for 15-20 dishes .
Just an idea .
