Refrigerating mycelium on agar

I am starting my first agar run, but I'm going to be away for a few days. I thought I would put them in the fridge to keep the mycelium from colonizing the whole dish and wanted to check with you guys that this will work and not harm my project.
Also, I will be growing on Rye and thought that it might be a good idea to put some rye powder in the agar... hopefully being able to isolate a strain that I know will flourish on rye. Is this unneccessary? Does agar contain similar nutrients?
Thanks for the help.

No need to refrigorate if it's only a few days. It won't grow that fast and if there is contamination it'll grow, anyway.
Rye powder isn't completely soluble so you'd have to dissolve it and then use the water, and you should probably measure the amount of soluble material in it (by weighing the amount before vs. the amount left over in the jar, dry) and you shouldn't have more than 30g starch per liter. It probably won't do too much, though -- mycelium can grow on rye, anyway -- you just don't want to clone generation after generation on one type of media, or else it can become specific.

Few days are not a problem, like Micro said. IME you can store agar cultures in fridge for several months, you just have to wrap them so they don't dry out.

earlier today, fungi perfecti informed me that mycelium can be safely refrigerated for up to 6 months, but it is not advisable.

I used to store plates in the fridge all the time. IME plates can be stored and used for over 1 year.
