yep and the eleven 'free channels' will be filled with free crap ripped off the net (like funniest home video does already from youtube) and filled with commercials in the same way late night demtel tv shopping was done and they'll shove that down our throats

its not a nice way to treat us

Each of the 5 broadcasters gets 3 channels. Generally, it'll be like ABC1, ABC2, ABCHD.

So ABC and SBS get a HD version of their main channel.

The commercial broadcasters already have an HD channel, even if it's not always used. They'll be getting a secondary channel to use as they want. Ten is going to use it for 24/7 sports :yawn: while Seven and Nine haven't decided yet.

So... really just 3 new channels, one of which is sport. Boring. If they're hoping to distract us with TV while they take away our internet, they've misjudged our priorities. At least, the priorities of us young folk.

you must be an Australian, here in the US more than half of
the people that own guns use them, either for hunting or they
carry them for self defense, the way I see it, guns aren't
simply a tool for hunting, they're also there to oppose
tyranny and since the US government  hasnt done anything that
the majority of the people deem to be tyrannical or committed
atrocities against the citizens there's not yet a need to use
them in that manner

I feel it's better to have it and not have to use it than to
not have it when you need it most and just because some

But seriously, i would protest against gun proliferation rather than for it. I think it would be one of the worst things to happen to our society. Ive never seen a gun, Ive never heard one go off, ill consider myself blessed if i die without ever experiencing these things.

As for the internet thing, I'm glad the liberals are gone, but I'm still voting Green next election. I don't trust the Labor or Liberal party and i think their power has to be reduced as much as possible or things like this will keep happening.
