Actually, the internet filter has been delayed again, and it's looking like the whole thing will be dropped. Not a single ISP supports it. We know it'll be dead-on-arrival. It's been widely reported in the mainstream media that the filter is
  • Easy to bypass
  • Ineffective at blocking things it's supposed to block
  • Will slow down internet speeds by up to 87%

Dead on arrival. I'm not concerned any more. :dancing:

Thats why I hate our media ,they make it sound like the research has been done,the thing has been tested and works ,is going to be installed any second and its a done deal.

I think Australia has the biggest/ most intensive internet usage per capita... IF there is anything that will disturb this country.. it is restricted internet. Literally thousands of people will find themselves with nothing to do except feel angst..

guns? lol taking away guns only offends people on principle.. after all ideally, no one is using the guns that they have.

However.. the internet is meant to be used.. all the time.

You say that as if other countries don't. Australia is no worse in that regard, and in many ways it's much better (drinking age is 18, age of consent is 16, prostitution is legal).

Isn't the drinking age 18 in most of the world besides USA?  In my state, the age of consent is 16, but that can usually get overlooked when the parents decide to change their mind.  I could be wrong.  I'm going to go look that up for confirmation.

It's really just 5 channels, bringing the full total to 15. You can already get 10 (including HD channels). Nothing very exciting.
