i am an Eagle scout, but no longer associated with the BSA...

Order of the Arrow reminded me of those conspiracy videos of the guys in the woods and their ceremony...you get there and see you all these people who you never would have thought were involved in that particular part of the BSA...maybe I shoulda stuck to it after i made it as far as i did...

Yeah I was in OA, Venturing, the whole 9 yards man. The OA ceremonies were cool but the rest of it just sucked ass, they made me work ALL day long for a pat on the back and a gay sash.

every cub/boy scout did pinewood derby at some point most likely, and it was always good times.  My dad and I would always put powdered graphite on the little nails to make the wheels spin faster.

The OA was quite odd with all the Native American Indian ceremonies and all.  I was a dancer at summer camp for the closing ceremonies one year, and those outfits are bad ass, but outrageously expensive.

peace

YEah man I always lost but I won the most original design every year. Instead of making mine look like a car I made it into a boat, tank, train, etc. Fuck having a fast pinewood derby car.

They always weighed ours, I would've probably done the same thing.
Man I remember one troop put some boxers up our flagpole, so we took them and ripped a hole in the ass and wrote "and we didn't use lube" on it. That night we, of course, raised it up their pole. It was kinda morbid but they had it coming.

I did it because eagle scout looks good on a resume, and I was like well I've gone this far it would be pointless to drop out now. But I had good times none the less.:yesnod:

Whats there to "feel like a tool" about?  A bunch of good friends camping out, learning skills and generally causing as much mayhem as we could get away with.

Kinda reminds me of every Shroomery gathering I've been to! :smirk:

My older brother was and I wanted to be one really bad, but the parents divorced and the fees scared my mom off.  Oh well.

When ever i saw boy scouts at a meeting or something in the cafeteria after school or at the municipal building (i was there for court.)  They were all the tools at my school.  But also my life in my early to late teens nothing was a good time unless i was drunk or high.  I was more into getting partying and getting vagina, than sitting out in the woods with a bunch of virgins trying to get badges.

I'm not judging any of you, thats just what i imagine a boy scout is from my own experiences with them.  I guess i judged them too quickly cuz you guys seem like cool people.

exactly, i had some of the best times of my life in scouts.

Ive been repelling down a 220 ft cliff face.  Ive been on a 6 day canoeing trip down the Rio Grande river, i bet you cant even maneuver a canoe.  Ive been on a 9 day backpacking trek to the summit of pikes peak, surviving with only what I can carry on my back.  I am trained to be able to save your life in case of an emergency.  I have actually performed CPR on one person, and was certified to do so.  I did this until the paramedics showed up, and the kid ended up living.  I learned how to sail, shoot accurately, use a bow, trap animals.  Lets put us both out in the wilderness with no way to get out but on our own esteem, and see who makes it.

Who is the tool now?

peace

There are defiantly people who fit you stereotype, but none of those fags would be posting on the shroomery in the first place (except for Coaster)
