The topic of this post reminds me of that Cake song... "Stick shifts and saftey belts..."

Anyway... Yeah, after hurricanes would be a great time to look. Provided you've still got a house/car  Lili is a Cat 4 now... Better hope your house is built well...

Wild Shrooms tend to react strangely when a Hurricane is around.

Good luck,
Let us know how it goes,
And take care

No, i am not that jt. Fields near the acadiana mall are not doing that well but i havnt checked any of them in a while. I think i will once the hurricane passes......... Acadiana is a good place to go shroom hunting. I will post some of my pics of shrooms I have found in the past so you dont have to search through all the messages.

dude, im in the pac nw right now, just listening to the mycelia soak up the rain, theres hardly a shroom around tho....hunted all day.
what is that place? starts with a "v", girls name?
i'm telling you, if you went to this levee, it's on the way out of town, and there is no fence to jump, so it's not trespassing....theres this levee with a road on the top of it, east of lafayette, past breaux bridge....awesome spot.
also, if you can get to baton rouge, the best field for cubies in the world is south on airline highway. it gets pretty hot (cop hot) but i've seen cubies 12 inches tall with caps 8-9 inches across out there. some huge dairy farm. god, i wish i was there!!!!!

Hey there,

Please keep the field locations less specific.
-Or else this topic will be locked.

Thanks,

i posted before yours was visible to me, and i also made sure not to be specific, and the one i was most specific about was not private land, it is public land used for grazing, why shopuld that count. anyway, i dont think the info was specific.
so, uhm, uh whatever. good luck jtseaweed

RE: "That is the last warning for field locations on this topic"

I see your point! While I think it's usally a very helpfull idea to list the state that mushrooms are found in (for hunting/ID purposes).... there isnt any real reason to be OVERLY specific... either.

Very good point sir!

i find a definate increase in mushroom growth after hurricanes...well, after it dries up a little...lili seems like its gonna be a bit serious though, especially compared to isidore...GGreatone, has florida been struck yet this year? I'm pretty sure you guys got lucky and missed isidore and lili, unlike la...

I have logged in this once so that I can set the "last seen" feature up.  let the faggots flow forth into OTD and have it.  Its funny how they all grew nuts after I left.  I'm not here, I'm not reading, but I urge you all to keep melting down over me.  I know, I hurt alot of people, and they deserved it.  epic win for me, epic fail for you.

ythan, you rock dude.  i feel that my time at the shroomery was very positive and enjoyable, but this site is no longer for me. im not mad or upset or disappointed, i just want no part in a pg rated faggot festival.

I wish that dam hurricane would blow some pan spores to some fields around here. I have never seen any ever. Enough cubes though this year. I only got one field I need to go to in scott but we killed that field this year. I think im going to let it chill for a while so it will start to grow good again. Probally like 2 or 3 years since that will probally be how long my dam probation will be for, lol.

I'm actually thinking, maybe a new species of mushrooms can reach your area by riding on a hurricane. Doesn't seem too far fetched to me and seems like I've heard it before. Though even if it did reach your area, would still take time for the mycelium to grow first.

In reply to:
has florida been struck yet this year?

Well the panhandle (from pensacola to tallahassee) got plenty of rain, but not much else..what i think happens, is that the hurricane sucks up so much moisture that anything not in its path ends up strangely dry..i mean, in my case, we would get some brief rainstorms, but after it stops raining then the humidity returns to a low amount and the rain dries up so fast that it is like it never rained.
And then when an area is actually hit by the storm, the rain is usually excessive, and the winds disorientate things, and, i think it might scare away the shroomies..cow dung absorbs and retains water so good and once a field floods, then the dung that gets drowned won't produce shrooms for another few weeks at least,
I dunno,
'Hope nobody gets hurt this year.

Keep shroomin,
GGreatOne234
