Hurricane Charley kicked my ass

Well, just got power back 2 days ago, its been rough with the heat and the mosquitos. I'm using my schools internet for the time being(still no internet at the house!!ARGH). Just glad I have a house to stay at.
So I got a question that goes out to the Floridians, has anyone in Florida (especially South West where Charley hit) notice any change in mushroom growth?
I havent been able to get a chance to go out on a hunt for a while, and was wondering if Charley did good or bad for us hunters. I haven't seen any chatter on the site about Florida for awhile. Anyway, hope everyone has had a good summer. My summer has ended and its back to school for the fall semester.

hi,

something strange about hurricanes that ive noticed, the weather scares mushrooms away into hiding..
for some reason. that is what i have observed at least.

and hurricanes tend to suck moisture out of the clouds, and after the storm it can be dry for days afterwards, which furthur shocks the shrooms.

..i heard that hurricane francis is coming towards florida in a few days..?

The heavy rains probably give the mycelial networks quite a pumelling. Also mycelium doesn't like to be saturated in water for too long, I think it can cause parts of it to rot or something, damaging the finer strands of the network that pins form on. Theres probably still good mycelium buried further down under cow patties etc. that might spread back up to the surface and begin to produce shrooms again.
I've never hunted wild cubes before though so this is all just speculation.
