turn cap to the side to make several print , too thick print tend to no conserve well with time is better light prints if you move then every few hour you will make several print from a single cap .

Dark prints do not preserve well?  I have never heard that, cactu.  What do you mean?  Do they contaminate by bacteria or what?

yes they are more prone to contamination , they must be dry real fast if you dont do so some spore germinate and some loose the avality to germinate, ligh or no too tick prints is the right term is better , dependig on the material you use to  put the prints sometimes they fall off if are too many, is my opinion when it come  to saving print for cultivation is better to make medium prints  not to tick not to light .also the more time you spend making the print could let the print to contaminate.
