Todays hunt - help ID please.
    #2002702 - 10/12/03 05:03 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Today me and a friend went hunting.
While going to the near pastures, walking trough the forest way, we could find mushrooms in abundance.
We are in switzerland, in the mountains. The pastures we found those shrooms had little-sized grass, probably due to the cows or sheeps or farmers ... . Thats why all mushrooms we found on the field were small, I think.

I am making spore prints now, hopefully results tomorrow.

There were cow shits and another kind of shit I couldnt recognize lol  - maybe sheep, dunno. This means lots of animals gaze this field.

Here is the pic with all the mushrooms - its the best quality picture, I lended a camera from a student here and had to use it in hurry.

(1)

This is the shroom I think is psilocybe semilanceata. I really searched the place where I found it, but couldnt find other mushrooms. The shroom was all brown when I picked it, and after that you can see how it changed it color to whitish. It has that 'nipple' that I have seen on liberty caps pictures and also friends have talked about.
The gills are darker brown than the cap`s brown.
You can see the stem, its brown again.
The scent of the mushrooms if I remember right was meaty, mushroomy, fresh.

(2)

Two of those shrooms we found on the side of the forest way, where there was lots of parts of wood, seemed very rich and humus soil. Alot of mushrooms grew there. The same mushrooms ( the biggest one ) we found a little inside the forest, scattered to a stump, again in rich and humus soil. As I studied this specie, I could notice a ring ( that was left from the cap ) in the little species - as you can see in the first pic, with all the mushrooms. I think there all shrooms are pictured best.
The cap is orange-reddish, stem is white-reddish.

(3)

Those two shrooms grew in cow poo. I have a feeling they are magic.
Their cap is white-grey and inside the cap ( the gills ) are black, as hopefully you can see from the pic. The caps are conical.

The scent of those two mushrooms was harsh, somehow smells like magic mushroom.

Pls help me indentify dem

Peace

#1- need a spore print before we can be sure

#2- looks like it's got potential to be either active or deadly(looks like a Galerina). Get a print, and let us know what color it turns when you bruise the stem.

#3- some kind of coprinus

No dice this time T0ad... keep lookin.

Edit: had the numbers all mixed up.

Yo Gumby

(1) the spore print is dark brown, like the gills. The size has really reduced and the shroom is now very small. Dont you people think thats psilocybe semilanceata ?

(2)spore print is orangish-brown, but more brown that orange.

(3)There is no spore print of the third shrooms. I remember after I picked tham and holded them in my hand I could see white spores ( or were those spores ? ). Now on the piece of paper I can see some black dots. Maybe the spore print color is white or black - most probably black.

I am pretty sure (2) is Galerina autumnalis - Deadly Gallerina. Good guess Gumby.

But what about the other two ?

toad: yes it certanly looks like a galerina. you should look into keys to make dentifications though, as photo comparrisons aren't the safest method.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

does 1 have a pellicle? i doubt it is P. semilanceata, but this is a good place to start to find out.

3 looks to be one of the lawn inhabting conocybes. it is verry difficult to make an id from a dried specimen.

did you get spore prints from any of them?
