Re: What does wolf blizter have to say about Palin's answer about the bailout [Re: Entropymancer]
    #8997792 -

You don't like the e-mail?  What about the others?  "White man's greed runs a world in need" and "typical white person."  What about his fucking wife?  You don't think she shows anything?  What about his preacher of 20 years?  That means nothing?  What about his entire career of procuring entitlements for properly pigmented people of limited means?  I don't recall him doing anything for poor white people.  Wake up.  He's gotten away with far more shit in much less time than any other politician in my experience.  He's a small notch above Al Sharpton.

And what exactly do you mean by depseration? Considering the polls at the moment, I think your camp is the only one with a reason to be desperate (us independents don't have to worry about our candidate losing, that's a foregone conclusion, but I'd expect republicans would be getting concerned right now)

Every one of those quotes from Dreams of My Father is in the past tense, indicating that his worldview has evolved beyond those early vestiges of rascism.

And your "Most Damning" quote: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction'... To me, that sounds like he's saying that he will not go along with any wodespread persecution of Muslims that people have feared might grow out of our War on Terror. I don't see anything damning about it.

You are 100% correct.

Quote:
"(T)he stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Anyone who wouldn't stand them is disgusting in my opinion.

Zappa, tell me how the above quote (in context) shows any racism whatsoever.

Why did you crop the quote?

Quote:
In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arabs and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for t""(T)he stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. I highlighted what you left out in your dishonest attempt to frame the issue as some general civil rights stance devoid of racial overtones.  He is prejudging a state of grievance based on otherness.  Racism is all over it.  "The history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly?"  Go fuck yourself Barry.  They feel the cold stares?  Maybe they should be more concerned with why they get the stink eye rather than whining that they do get the stink eye.

How come I can't cut and paste that snopes thing?

I dunno, I can't copy and paste it either.

There is absolutely no racism involved in that quote. All he is saying is that if public opinion turned against Arab-American citizens because of a terrorist attack or other happening, he would stand on their side. I'm not sure what's racist about that, but I'm not looking through your nonsensically tinted glasses, either.

In the case of a terrorist attack, American citizens who happen to be Arab or Pakistani have no reason to receive a "stink eye".

Republicans trying to play the race card is incredibly disingenuous. What a hilarious display of partisan desperation, especially since your guy is on the record having said this:

"I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live."

Why do you think he was referring to all Asians as gooks?  When I saw the interview with him about POWs (a decade ago), he was clearing referring to the people that were torturing him.  (at least, clearly to me at the time, and this was before he was running for president way back when)

Obviously he wasn't referring to all asians.  I think by "gooks" he was referring to Vietnamese in general.  That's the common usage of the word, and if I recall the context correctly that was the clear implication in his statement.

Yes but his word choice is pretty revealing. He could have said "I hated the bastards" but no, he said "I hated the gooks." Sorry, that's racism and it's stunning that you wouldn't see the hypocrisy of trying to say that Obama is unfit to be president because he is a racist.

One remark about POW captors of 5 years who beat and tortured vs a whole political career based around playing the race card, racist wife, racist & extremist friends, racist preacher, etc. :strokebeard:
