the ged requirements are so low as a product of the public school system being such a bureaucratic mess

you will never ever see a command style economy better than a free market, because theres no incentive for work or division of labor.  the public school is a command style education, and provides zero teacher incentive, and a one size fits all situation in which very few succeed, and everyone else gets dumbed down.

your effectively saying that everyone should give their kids to a centralized system which does not even promote education, and making arbitrary bench marks that people have to pass in order to not end up in jail.  real life skills are speaking, listening, entrepreneurship, and specialization in fields.  When was the last time public schools talked about entrepreneurship?  The ONLY thing i was told ALL MY LIFE was to get good grades no matter what, go to college, then get a secure government job for the rest of my life.  And i'm god damn furious that i was lied to to keep the paychecks rolling in for repulsive government people.  I refuse to participate in this mob-ocracy.


Who are these people threatening me with violence if i don't send my children to their camps?  Why are they legitimate authorities?  Heres the quick answer: they have bigger guns.

BTW, I'm all for the semi "socialist" leanings of Canada. And I plan to keep them.

No offense intended. But if that's true, that's about the only thing that America leads the western world in these days.

Check out MapleCroft Maps for example.
And BTW, tell me if you can see all of them.
I think the reason I can only see a few now is because I was using a preview.
I could open them all and explore in detail at one time. Now I can't.

my issues with banning in cali.

the education system in many inner cities is almost as bad as a parent who does not have a degree or diploma. I think the parent does have the choice to keep their children away from such institutions, but the only problem with that is they will not be exposed to new material.

I think one issue at hand is the social aspect of schools have changed. Its almost a safety issue. What if the child has a disability and is forced to public school, where they are at the mercy of there peers, possibly being ridiculed daily. This can lead to many long term problems and conflicts that not only deal with the individual but the school as a whole.

I think that if a parent does have a diploma they should be able to homeschool there child to the age of 10 (or elementary school) and if they do have a college degree of some sort until the age of 13 (or 8th grade). This is where i think that some people should enter either a public high school, or is required to have a hired tutor for homeschooling.

I have had many friends live complete social lives outside of homeschool, and have actually excelled past many of their peers academically.

a down side to homeschooling is the quality of the parents education, and sometimes social beliefs that are installed in the child from a crack head parent. I think these children are at most risk.


so all in all i believe it should be allowed and that its not the states decision to determine whats best for the child, because state officials dont know areas on a personal basis. It should be a city ordinance and not a state law.

private schools offer higher quality of education, specialization and other things public doesn't.  Thats why its better.  Grade inflation is relative to knowledge, which is why people don't go to the schools that preform the best as the only deciding factor.

And not just in your system where the public schools are starving for capital.

Show me some proof that around the world private schools outperform public schools.

I don't know how anyone can call the California school system uniformly authoritarian.  From the 5th grade on, I was always so far ahead that the teachers just let me do whatever I wanted.  I could fuck around in the halls all day if I felt like it and just show up for tests.  Of course, out of sheer boredom, I would go to class still.  That was cool though, because rather than teach, we mostly discussed the material in an impartial manner.  I know it gets worse if you're a retard, but unless you have medical issues causing you to be there, then there's no excuse for anybody not to get into the better classes.

one does not need proof to know that command style education is worse than voluntary education.  check the history of man, man

i dont care enough to get a bunch of statistics comparing public - private.  i am pointing out how evil and wrong banning home schooling is, and what it tells about the future of education.  you think its right that bureaucrats get to decide your childrens future, and parents should be put in jail if they want to teach them themselves?
