I'm happy, but not because I like to think about spiritual and philosophical issues.
-------------------- Welcome evermore to gods and men is the self-helping man. For him all doors are flung wide: him all tongues greet, all honors crown, all eyes follow with desire. Our love goes out to him and embraces him, because he did not need it.

i'm content... i've touched the extreme end of happiness, coming back sort of leaves you numb. i don't think it's a bad thing though because even though i'm not always happy, i'm not usually sad either.

I'm not really happy or sad,I just AM. I've been going through Major Depression for the last year and I'm totally devoid of all feelings whether good or bad, like an emotional limbo. As most people that have gone through serious clinical depression will tell you, you aren't really sad,you just feel a very profound emptiness. Whether things are going good or bad it doesn't really matter too much to me. Then again, I do have my good days every once in a while.

am I happy with life? yes. life is beautiful am I happy with my current personal situation in life? no. but I'm planning for change. am I happy with the current state of the world? absolutely not. and I'm not sure there's anything I can do about it. did my natural pondering of uncommon things have anything to do with my happiness/unhappiness about the above mentioned things? how should I know?

I am bathed in misery.
Everyday I have to think about shit like ethics, spirituality, and how to better myself and then watch the hicks around me say things like "ME BEATS ME WIFE!" "ME HAS PRIMER COLORED CAR!"

I dig Albino Jesus' viewpoint....the term happiness is pretty weak for the importance we put on it...our emotions and realities are much too complex for tossing around a 'yea' or 'nay'...if i personally had to replace the term with only one word it would be contentedness. i am far from content. so reversing that term would obviously hold Im far from happy. More to the gist of your question, I am much more content *because* I have rebeled, read, thought and then some more, abused drugs, traveled, and become a devout psychotropic psychedelic user. WIthout these things I would still be in potentially nightmarish realites, only less interesting. Of course we sense great agony and angst behind all our enlightening adventures, but many feel it is a neccessary product of conscious evolution. Ignorance is bliss only in blissful surroundings, these are not. Those who claim to be free, and thus happy or fully content, must be in places Ive never seen yet,...the more free I become, the more I see to be attained. Whatever your thinking is the hard route, its worth it. The otherside cant be found without hunting down and smashing the doors. Probable flesh wounds on the splinters, you'll heal further down the road. ---Ec0

If it wasn't for the need for money I would be very happy. As it is I am just happy. I feel I have a lot of love in my RW life and there is no substitute for that. My "experiances" are part of what has made me what I am and I am happy with that.

what i found out about happiness is that all the people think happiness is a result of certain situations or things in your life... when believe it is the other way round... certain situations and things appear in your life as a result of you beeing happy... in my eyes... happyness is a choice, not a result... be the creator of your experiences, not merely a thing that reacts... be cause...

Yes, I would say as a rule I am happy, I prefer the word, 'content', though.
Recently though I lost my account as Mr. Mushrooms which means a lot of important contributions for the Shroomery are gone. My sticky thread which helped people id mushrooms so they wouldn't die or get sick, several nice threads in this forum, and some cool pictures as well.
Nothing is permanent in life.
Still I wihs this would not have happened.
Cheers,

Err... I think I'm happy. I go through phases. My paradigm for attaining happiness seems to be in a constant flux, so that I don't really know what it is at times. I've got some work to do, but I also realize that I am probably happier than many others out there.
The waterpump on my car going out yesterday sure hasn't helped!
