I'm curious if there's any psychology students here and what they have to say about this. Because this sounds like a textbook precursor to fullblown psychosis: killing small animals then touching them? Rly?!

You shouldn't confuse this with "psychosis". A psychotic personal is not necessarily a violent person.

This guy is sado-masochistic with some serious sexuality and gender issues. He's obsessed with women and he's torturing animals. He sounds like a serial killer in development but he might be too young to actualize.

I know we all have problems with authority here, but my best advice is this: CALL THE POLICE. This guy's fucking torturing animals. That's a crime. It's about the only thing you can do right now to keep yourself and the people you love safe. Not to mention the local animals.

IMO justice must be served for that poor kitten. Can you imagine how much it must have suffered? Bludgeoned and drowned.... what a terrible way to die. How could someone do that to a creature that sounds exactly like an infant? This is a truly sick mind. Tell everyone you know to keep well away from him, and definitely call the popos. This might be a situation where snitching is the right thing to do.

What the fuck does, 'I'm not supposed to know.", even mean in a situation like this?! Fuck loyalty!

Who cares if he finds out that they told someone? They should tell someone. Call the fucking cops already before your girlfriend becomes his first human victim! Write down what you said in your first post and give it to a cop. Technically you never even told them in that case. The paper did. Just imagine if they read it to him and then he'll realize he really is a fucking psycho.

He won't be around for long unless you let him. Protect yourself and get this motherfucker some help. Everybody can win in the long run.

It's a shame how people neglect shit that they can actually do something about and then complain about it later. Don't be that guy! Take control!

The situation is taken care of, he's in police custody right now. I feel like a pussy, but I'm pretty shaken by this. They found a cat, a hamster, and a canary in his freezer. No joke. Me, my girlfriend, and 2 other people voiced our concerns about his mental situation. He's agreed to a psychological evaluation.
I feel really horrible about this, he seems like a very disturbed individual. He looked really hurt and confused.

I've never seen anyone and totally believed that they are in a state where they are capable of murder.

I'm sure his problems have a familial basis...I was going over some chat logs with my girlfriend, and I'm surprised she didn't notice the disturbing imagery before. How don't his parents notice this? He has all the elements of someone who'll end up decimating a neighborhood playground, from his lisp and stutter to his sister complex. I'm not sober right now, and I have a very creepy image of him stroking the body of a dead 6-year-old.

Bad tripping really hard :frown:

Since we're all doing amateur psychology here, here's my two cents.

Psychopathic its not. A psychopath wouldn't give a rats ass about the sister, or the cat. Sado-masochistic? WTF has that got to do with anything? Nothing remotely of the sort is described here. It doesn't seem psychotic either.

My guess is that the guy has brain damage and perhaps also isn't too bright. It doesnt seem like a specific mental disorder - a brain lesion or something comes to mind that leads to underdeveloped and impulse control issues.

But yes, he is off the wall, stay the hell away from him.

You definitely did the right thing. He sounds like a pretty sick individual and it's really good he's not going to be around other people. You may have potentially saved a life and you should be proud. Animal cruelty is very wrong, and I'm sure you know about how torture of animals has been linked to violent behaviour later in life.

Hopefully the guy gets some help and gets his life sorted out. But in the mean time relax and be thankful he isn't around your girlfriend.

Man have you ever read Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck?

Sounds like this guy is a bit slow on the uptake and just wants to pet the rabbits man...

No need for the bad tripping.  You did the right thing.  I'm sure he's gonna end up in a mental hospital far away from society.

Make sure you and your sister get restraining orders, just in case, though.

Instead of thinking of dead children that he never got a chance to kill imagine their life free of one less horrible person. You did a GOOD THING by calling the police. Who cares how hurt he was. He might not understand his urges, but he needs to learn restraint. He killed four innocent creatures, tortured them. If you had 'minded your own business' a whole slew of people could be dead.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I was panicking without cause earlier, or maybe it was the LSA. I did a good thing. I spoke to his mother today, to rid myself of the guilt, and she agrees that he has had an odd, dark side to him since childhood and she had suspected bad things in the past. He might've killed pet dogs he's had apparently. She seemed grateful that someone finally got her "baby" help as she couldn't seem to grasp the fact that he might be over the edge.
Hearing a mother be grateful over something like that makes you feel really good about yourself. I don't think he's a horrible person or anything, just deeply troubled by his experiences with his father, and deserving of the help he will soon get.
