Psychopaths In Our Midst?!

Holy. Fucking. Shit.
My girlfriend just got home and told me an utterly disturbing story.

First some background: there's this guy (lets call him John) she met in one of her classes, he has a complete sister complex. Meaning, he treats her and really wishes she was his sister. He does this to a lot of people, and almost every day he tells her he wishes he had a sister, and that he would take so much care of her. She's freaked out, I tell her to go with it and see what happens.

Today she comes home with a horrified look on her face. I ask whats up, and this is the story she tells me:

One of John's friends had a kitten. This friend wanted to get rid of the kitten and was considering the old "bag-n'-toss" into the ocean. Of course, that kitten being female, John bought it immediately to save it. He took care of it for a week, feeding it, cleaning it.

But there was a problem, the cat would not let him pet it. Eventually he got so frustrated while bathing it, that he grabbed it by the head, and bashed the head twice on the bathtub. Not being sure it was dead, he did the logical thing: drowned it, for 45 minutes, in the tub. When he was sure it was dead, John did what can only be described as psychopathic behavior, which will surely ultimately lead to rape/murder/rape-murder-necrophilia. He pet the goddamn cat, for 2 solid hours. Its in his freezer still.

What do I do?

And don't most cats freak out around open water? The bathtub doesn't sound like a great place for pet-owner bonding.

Just my girlfriend, and one other girl.

I'm actually scared now to let her hang out with John, but suddenly sever all ties might remind him of the kitten that didn't allow petting  :uhoh:

She's a black belt, so I'm sure she could take him hand-to-hand, but guys like this are the kind that end up making nailgun/chainsaw hybrids (Sisterly Love Gun) and ripping up nurseries.

I'm curious if there's any psychology students here and what they have to say about this. Because this sounds like a textbook precursor to fullblown psychosis: killing small animals then touching them? Rly?!

holy fuck.

i dont know what to say other that she needs to tell him to stay the fuck away from her.  and pay attention for trailing cars or moving shadows in your yard at night...... that dude has some serious problems.

i think i would also call the cops and try to have him arrested on animal cruelty, especially if the evidence is still in his freezer.

its a good thing i dont know this sick fuck.

Seriously tell your girlfriend to stay the fuck away from him. 

In fact you should phone the fucking police and get him locked up, drowning cats is illegal and hopefully somebody will realise this guy has issues and needs to be watched closely.

This is what I'm actually considering, but the thing is, only 2 girls are supposed to know about this. If he gets "busted" they'll know one of them told the cops. I don't wanna see how he gets his revenge :tongue:

I don't wanna put other people at risk. If he told me the story, I would've bashed his head against the nearest bathtub tout suite. I'm not even supposed to know this, so its hard for me to act on it. I'm waiting for my girlfriend to come home from class to see what she did about the situation.

I don't know what you should do, but I can say this story brightened my day.  A lot.

My problems seem really small now compared to John's.

I don't even want to try to analyze the guy, even if I did know more of his past.

You always have the option of telling the police, then getting a restraining order if you feel threatened. They hand those things out pretty easy (at least around here). I say this because given the story about the cat, he seems to be an individual who doesn't lash out instantly, but rather after multiple rejections. So, he would probably break the restraining order non-violently, landing him more jail time, before anything happened.

Chances are the courts would mandate a psych eval if you reported his behavior, and you probably wouldn't see "John" again.

Just food for thought, don't act on my advice alone, consider your options.
