alkaloid content top to bottom

i was told by a friend that most of the alkaloids are contained in the top part of the cactus as mescaline is created as the cactus grows and is close to non existent in the bottom. he said if i were to eat the bottom foot of a 7 foot cacti that i wouldnt really feel anything.  can any one shed some light one this? im prepping the bottom foot of one tall cactus as i type this. thanks!

Fatter sections hold much more alks.
And wheres the fattest section??

you should just go by dry weight as far as measuring doses.

I think your friend is wrong.
