Is there another name for Stopharia cubensis, you know maybe a nick name that the spore sellers use.

The name "Stropharia" was replaced by "Psilocybe" several years ago, but some vendors still refer to the strain by it's old name. Stropharia Cubensis and Psilocybe Cubensis are one in the same.

Couldnt have said it better myself... It was named Stropharia due to its persistant annuler ring which is quite considerable when you compare the thick veil to other psilocybes

Well, the waters have been muddied. The SPECIES used to be called Stropharia cubensis, which is synonomous with Psilocybe cubensis. They are one in the same if you are talking about species.

However, there is a strain of Psilocybe cubensis which is called Stropharia. I think it's a horrible name for a strain, but I don't get to decide everything in the universe. So, most of the time if you hear someone simply say "Stropharia" they are referring to the stropharia strain of Psilocybe cubensis. If you hear someone say "Stropharia cubensis", they are just old, haven't picked up the new nomenclature and are referring to the species, not a particular strain.

PF is the only vendor I know selling the Stropharia STRAIN.
make sense? Clear as mud, right?

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
