Stopharia/Psilocybe Difference
    #1630231 - 06/13/03 01:13 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

What are the differences between Psilocybe Cubensis and Stopharia Cubensis?

That's the only difference? I mean, they work the same way and everything?

They're all basically the same then?

I think I may have seen Stopharia Cubensis listed on TLG as a strain, perhaps this is what he means.

I personally have no info regarding this subject other than that.

It's as zeronio said. Mycologists decided to rename Stropharia Cubensis to Psilocybe Cubensis. However, as the world of mycologists is not one of unity, the old name is still used by some stubborn mycologists, but they are almost extinct.

Oh, that makes sense actually. Why arouse suspicion with a the name everyone knows? It might be a way for people to look a little less conspicuous.
