Question on getting the most out of a syringe

I have heard that you can put spores in a jar with honey water in it and it will grow mycellium in the jar. I was wondering, has anyone ever attemted to put maybe a teaspoon of brown rice flour in a half pint jar of water and sterilize it, then inject a sporefilled syringe to start the mycellium growth and increase the yield of the syringe?
Just an idea
