PF Jar question

I have been looking all around in the pictorial section and was wondering if it was possible to use the mason jars that have a lip on the top, you know.. it curves on the top to make the top of the jar smaller than the inside?? I recently bought 8oz Jelly Mason Jars that have no lip so I can easily slide the cakes out into the birthing chamber. There were also 1pt and 1qt jars, but they both had lips. Can I use those jars next time?? I'd like to have larger cakes. Also, how many CC's should I be putting in these small 8oz jars. I've been seeing people put 1-1.5cc in a pint, what is suitable for me??

Relative to that question.. if I inject about 2cc in a jar would it colonize faster?? Would it grow more or larger mushrooms?? Some questions that the teks I've read haven't covered.

For PF cakes, no. There would be no way to remove the material inside without breaking it up. If you want to case the crumbled cakes, then you could indeed use those jars.

I would say squirt enough in each hole so that the spore water runs down the side of the jar a little bit. Don't use too much water!

Thanks a lot. I have never grown before so I'm unsure if the medium that came out would be soft.. or hard. I believe that those tapered jars would be good for that Hippies PF jar tek meathod, but not the way I plan on doing it now. I'll follow that "running to the bottom of the jar" advice and go from there. My TC should be coming on Monday or Tues... it's just as exciting as when I got my first MJ seeds. Wow.. never knew mushrooms could be both this difficult, and this exciting.
