I don't know. I actually haven't ever lived in an apt and i'm about to move in one so I don't know how picky people and managers are.

It's 93 dB by the way.

depends, if it's a little jobsaw with a universal motor, yes
when you start getting into the deltas and such with induction
motors they tend to be a lot quieter


dont cut glass with a table saw

eh, it'll be absurdly loud, but if its during the day people have to understand as long as you don't run it more than an hour straight or something.

What size aquarium are you going to build? Have you ever built one before? If not, I'd recommend doing a lot of reading because you could be setting yourself up for a catastrophic flood.

i don't know why i said aquarium, i'm actually thinking of building a floatation tank (sensory deprivation tank). there are some plans online for sale and i figured an aquarium is the closest thing to it. i just need to cut plywood i think and the website lists a portable table saw and orbital sander as the only required power tools.

If that's the case, I would go with fiberglass. If your going to take the time to build it yourself, you might as well do it right.

If someone next to me in an apartment started using a table saw, I'd probably chuckle for a bit and then report him to the manager.

Apartment = thin walls = your neighbors know exactly what you're doing.

just knock on their door and tell them what your doing and give them a time frame for it to be done by. most people won't have a problem with it.
