Good stuff man.  Now get a priest or two over there and have the place blessed.  Seriously, it's good for your home and soul

don't listen to daimyo, you need some hookers that can squirt. Only then can your new apartment be truly christened, preferably nuns. ahve them splash holy nectar on all the flat surfaces. Then bask in the glory of your first place.

congrats.

Wow... where the hell are you from? I wanna go there with prices so damn low.

I'm stuck up in massachusetts.... Looking to move out for the second time.. The first apartment i got in, the situation wasnt so great... Living with 3 friends, but none of us were doing anything with our lives, so motivation was minimal.

So i moved back home to get my shit together, realized that I dont like it here, and am now getting a full time job while taking a class at a community college, and getting another apartment with a friend who goes to school full time.

Decent looking place, $1300 a month PLUS utils (but heat is included, which is very fucking important right now.. And in mass water is always included). Then again, its two floors. Two big bedrooms upstairs, a smaller bedroom, a kitchen, bathroom, and decent sized living room downstairs. Plus the landlord is cool as hell, and pretty young. He was like "Yeah, first, last and security before you move in... But.. Fuck, you guys are young, money is gonna be tight. If you guys cant come up with the entire security deposit, we can work on that later"

So hopefully moving in march 1st...

lol how is getting kicked out of your moms house growing up and becoming a man?. But sounds like a pretty nice place actually. The apartments I was living in recently had a very nice set up, $600 a month (canadian) with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room/dining room. and a solaris (kind of like your own sun room really). With a great view on the 10th floor. Utilities not included but still worth it. With free access to the Sauna, Hot Tub, and private pool. Wish I stayed there longer :frown:.

way to go man. it's exciting moving out for the first time, that's for sure! i'll be moving out of the current overpriced shit hole i'm in and moving into a house with some friends. $300 a month - all bills included.  It's in a nice neighborhood too. I kind of wanted to move away from raleigh but i got so lucky with this deal i just couldn't pass it up. I just won't be able to find anything this cheap anywhere else, unless i want to live in a gehtto or something.

i've got that moving out feeling all over again!

keg is a very good idea, charge $5 per cup free refills and bam everyone gets cheap beer, you get your money back/maybe a buck or two more and you get a killlllller party.

5 dollars a cup = rip off... i never charge when i throw parties thats just cheap... i can get a keg for 40 bucks in flagstaff so theres no need to charge... and i already have two shells in my garage so no deposit... if you want to throw a good party dont charge for beer on the first keg, but if you have to get another one thats when you get everyone to throw in....

Unless you live in some fairytale land (which is possible with rent at $300 a month) Your voluntary donation box will have about $2.57 by the end of the night.

There is nothing wrong with getting a keg or two, and charging people three bucks at the door for all the beer they can drink. That is cheap for getting drunk, hell that's cheap for a sandwich. Plus, you're the one who is going to have to be scraping the vomit off the radiator the next day. You may as well make the money back you spent on the keg plus enough cash for a chair or something.

Depends on the kind of party. Charging for close friends is bogus, but they should've offered to throw down a couple bucks anyway... damn moochers. Otherwise, sure, charge a few bucks at the door if you're not in an area where you might get any violent individuals.

I remember one party, we were collecting money at the door. Ask one guy for some, he lifts his shirt to reveal a pistol. Hmm... time to leave.
