The Obama Nation In 3rd Printing & To Debut #1 On New York Times Bestseller List!
In the past week, online and newspaper attack articles have been slow to develop over Jerome Corsi's controversial new book, The Obama Nation. Last week we reported on widespread complaints lodged against the major booksellers for employees that were refusing to stock the book. But despite sporadic stocking problems, The Obama Nation has proven to be the hottest selling non-fiction book of the summer.

This week, Corsi's publisher began their third printing of the book as The Obama Nation held it's position as #1 atop Amazon.com's nonfiction best sellers chart and #1 for in-store sales at both Barnes & Noble and Borders. This morning WND passed along reports confirming that the book will make it's debut on the New York Times Bestsellers list this weekend in the #1 slot.

Criticism of Corsi's book has been surprisingly limited considering the scope of the content and allegations in the book. With limited attacks by Media Matters and other online bloggers, the Obama campaign itself has been slow to react to allegations made within the book. The limited scope of criticism is likely to change with the impending #1 position atop NYT's bestseller list, as highlighted by a Bob Breckel Editorial attacking the book at Real Clear Politics today.

Perhaps Obama surrogates have been taking a wait & see approach concerning the book or perhaps they expected sales to plummet with the release of Ron Suskinds, The Way Of The World. Suskind's controversial expose has been both heavily praised and heavily attacked since its release for its allegations concerning the Bush Administration. The Obama campaign may have expected Suskinds,The Way Of The World, to draw attention away from Corsi's book, but it appears that hope is not likely as Suskind's book currently sits 14th upon Amazon's bestseller list and a far 2nd behind The Obama Nation on the nonfiction bestsellers list.

The Obama campaign should have been better prepared for the anticipated release of The Obama Nation. Corsi's Swift Boat Book in 2004, turned out to be an unexpected #1 bestseller, and sparked a barrage of criticism and doubt that many Democrats attribute to the defeat of John Kerry. At the time of its release, the Kerry campaign failed to to act swiftly in acknowledging and addressing the allegations within the book and by time they did react the controversy had done its damage. The Obama campaign has shockingly had the same slow reaction to both The Obama Nation and David Freddoso's,The Case Against Barack Obama. The slowness of their reaction may prove damaging, especially considering the resignation of a Obama advisor this week for his radical associations.
