Rooting agent? friend or foe?

at walmart one can buy a rooting agent designed to strengthen and feed roots. it is used to start cuttings usually. does anyone know if this would have beneficial effects on mushroom "roots?", on the container it has several warnings about poisioning....would this be safe to use?

Mushrooms don't have roots. The substance you are talking about is a rooting hormone and probably won't help mushrooms in any shape form or fashion.

why don't you try it and let us know if it's poisonous.. sheesh. Don't people get it? Poison = BAD. Why would you want to treat your mushrooms (which have no roots and are NOT PLANTS, with a TOXIC hormone.. just for some size?)

it's just a question.

i would want to treat the mycelia in order get them to grow stronger and faster. there is nothing ridiculous about homologies between mycelia and plant roots. i was ASKING about the toxicity.
