epson salts cost around 10 euro a kilo here there used for dring in chemistry more often than damp gone they must first be dried though by puting them in the oven on high for a half hour they soak up a third othere weight to and if you posion yourself with it all you get is a does of the runs no permanent damage i dont dry my mushrooms so this is of no use to me just thaught id let you know

Epsom salts is indeed hygroscopic and there is even a warning on most packages not to leave them open to the air.

This is my desication tek. And it's reusable forever too. Just bake them and they will dry out again and break them up with a hammer and reuse forever. Safe, cheap and environmentally friendly.

Edit: I posted about this in mushroom cultivation last year and I just bumped the thread for you. It has some details and will be a good reference. Here it is.
