I cased colonized manure but no fruits ever emerged. I am not sure what I did wrong but I am working on it.

Workman, have you tried this species on straw only? I swear I saw a group of these mushrooms growing from a wheatstraw bale a few years ago. I never could figure out what type of pan they were, but they were definietly paneaolus of some type. At the time, I had never really seen pics of the casters untill GG started find'em. The ones I found resembled GG's mushrooms more than any other type of pan. I know wheatstraw is used when seeding lawns in some parts of the country. And GG finds'em in lawns.

Panaeolus castaneifolius has a black spore print, Panaeolina foenisecii has a brown spore print,
Macroscopically the two mushrooms are very similar,
But Panaeolus castaneifolius sometimes stains blue and it contains psychoactive ingredients.

Thats the problem. I thought they were foes but the sporeprint was jet-black everytime. They look exactly like what I saw in my front yard. They had pure white mycelia growing up the stem, and had the darker color band on the cap. They never bruised blue. You think the reason people dont find this is because they mistake it for foes?

I got a bunch of similar looking shrooms from the neighbors yard. Taking a few prints now. This yard is interesting, there are 4 different types of shrooms growing now (from white button to 3 others I have never seen) plus it has a few nasty ass areas which the growth looks like dark coral which are full of green spores when broken. I wish I had more time to investigate the findings.
