The hunt for the mighty south florida chanterelle

#8632723 - 07/14/08 10:38 AM (18 years, 3 months ago)

the rains have come and with them has come the harvest of chanterelles. i stopped by this patch a couple weeks ago to find nothing but a couple skimpy babies. i went out yesterday and found a bit more.

(that is gardening lime on the scale!)

2.5lb harvest and i didnt even pick them all. i could probably go back in a couple days and pick just as much. i guess i'll eat as much as i can and then freeze the rest.

Excellent! Nice harvest. I watch my patch earlier and often and pick them as they mature for the most part.
