I lived in Ft Lauderdale for 15 years and just moved. They feed the cows oranges to stop the shrooms from growing. So if you take a nice big whiff and it smells like orangy cow shit, go to a diff field. Just look for patches of grass that are grown alot taller then the rest of the field. They are usually circles and this is where you will find a big piece of cow shit in the middle and hopefully mushrooms too. Good Luck!

Is this factual information or are you guessing?? Many farmers feed their cows oranges because they are cheap (rotting oranges are almost free) and the cows love them.
Another piece of misinformation being said that farmers put antifungals in cow feed to stop shrooms. When in reality, they do it because it is helpful to the cows.
Farmers don't want to spend extra money so their fields are mushroom free. In fact, most farmers are more concerned w/ poachers than they are mushroom pickers. (Now the cops, that's a different story...)
MOst farmers don't have evil intent against mushrooms. They just are trying their best to take care of their cows...
(I know, I own cows... )

You own cows!? Awesome.
I want some cows too, are they hard to take care of? -Do you have to give them shots or injections or what? -Or do you just set them free in a field and let them eat grass and sh*t all over the place? I cows.
That orange-feeding story is all new to me, it can't be true. -I'm sure the cows eat oranges but that should have no negative effect on the shrooms in the field. -Actually i knew of a field where the farmer gave the cows grapefruits, and there were plenty of shrooms in that field.

Ive heard of farmers in florida actually feeding the cows cubensis spores and then the cow would poop them out and colonize the land

farmers have more reason to be wary of paochers that mushroom hunters, but farmers tend to be proud people who care a great deal for thier land and do not like tresspassers in general.

Florida farmers do not like trespassers, at all.
Florida coppers do not like trespassers, at all, either.
Florida homeowners don't like trespassers, either, at all.
There are probably more no trespassing signs in this state than in any other. Probably.

Why can't we have "every man's right" like I've read some places have?
Basically it means that as long as someone is just passing through, they can cross any land they want(I think). I think that this is a law in England. I wish I could remember where I read about it.

And neither do the rattlesnakes, cottonmouths and water mocassins, nor the black widow spiders I have seen when I picked cubes in Jacksonville and moved a rock away from a grouping of cubes and ther eunder the rock was a friggin black widow.
