I'm a big Thompson fan and hope the film does him justice.

Right now I'm reading The Joke's Over by Ralph Steadman.  It's pretty bizarre and intriguing to read their encounters from his perspective.  Poor guy never knew what he was getting into with Hunter, but it doesn't appear that he has any regrets.

I just started reading Hells Angels the other day. Pretty fucking good book.

And Gonzo is showing at a theater about 30 minutes from me. Hopefully I don't zone out and miss it.

I plan on seeing the film tommorrow.

BTW, what's everybody's favorite Hunter S. Thompson book?

Mine is Curse of the Lono, as the artwork and writing co-mingle into this depraved car wreck with flaming bodies that you can't stop looking at with one person, Hunter, walking away from it relatively unscathed as always.
Also, Generation of Swine did incite a gruesome bender on my part, in which while perpetually intoxicated I was disgusted at my surroundings and shouting at random people and demeaning all existence.  Nothing was the same after that.
