Codex Alimentarius - Government plan to drastically reduce the world's population?
    #8590051 -

Rima E. Laibow, M.D. on Codex:

"We Become Silent" - Documentary on Codex:

CNN claiming vitamins are unhealthy:

Official Codex Alimentarius website:
http://www.codexalimentarius.net/web/index_en.jsp

Natural Solutions Foundation opposing Codex Alimentarius:
http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/

I found out about all this just last week.

I've had dreams about this sort of thing for a couple months now and when I discovered that it actually exists, I flipped the fuck out.

I'm going to start stocking up on vitamins. :tinfoil:

What say all of you?

Link with information summarizing what most of the first two videos talk about:

http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?page_id=155

But basically, when Codex Alimentarius goes into implementation on December 31st, 2009, the two effects of most concern are:

1) All commercial food products will be genetically modified (by law under Codex) to remove virtually all vitamins and nutrients from them, meaning food will no longer be a viable source of nutrition.

2) Under the Codex's Vitamin and Minerals Guideline, vitamins and supplements will be restricted to ridiculously ineffective levels.

Which means that under Codex Alimentarius, the majority of the world will either starve to death or die of chronic illness that would otherwise have been preventable with proper nutrition.

I really kind of hope this is a hoax or just another conspiracy or something.

What's stupid about it?  Do elaborate!

The plan itself is called Codex Alimentarius, by the government.  It's latin for "food code."  It's not some fancy name given to it by all the conspiracy theorists.  Check out the website.

Do you really have to ask??  What's stupid about the idea that next year all of our food will be genetically modified by law to remove nutrients?  Oh, sorry, my mistake, that's a perfectly tenable proposal

Wow, way to take a boring committee meeting and blow it way out of proportion. The CA is simply trying to raise the quality standards of vitamins & dietary supplements. At the moment there's very poor standards and they vary a huge amount around the world, making it very difficult to import dietary supplements. And because there's a lack of oversight regarding their manufacture, the doses vary a LOT meaning that you don't always get what you pay for. (and in the case of Pan, Australia's largest producer of such things, people got very sick due to terrible manufacturing control). I think it's about time our vitamins & supplement manufacturers got their act together.

Has anybody actually looked at the official government website on it yet?  :crankey:

I mean it's all right there if you read all the fine print and shit, in a big .pdf document.

Seriously though, yeah it sounds ridiculous but that doesn't mean it can't possibly happen.

At least provide something to disprove it instead of a "sounds dumb no way lulz."

Like really, because I don't want to have to be spending money every paycheck for the next year and a half stocking up on vitamins and shit if this is all just blown out of proportion.

I'm sticking by my "sounds dumb, no way, lolz."  If you want to waste some time out of your life digging through the facts to see exactly what those youtube videos are misrepresenting, that's your prerogative.  If you want to belive any crazy hippy bullshit conspiracy theory, that's fine too (though couldn't you at least pick one of the half-way plausible ones?)

Personally I find that keeping my wits about me, and keeping my new Sony Hippy-Bullshit-Detector ($12.99 from RadioShack) on the "Ultimate Truth Sieve" setting helps sort these things out.

It's hard to disprove something that there is no solid evidence for to begin with. Yes, this group seeks to subject supplements to various regulations and standards -- But please show us in their official documentation where it says they plan to kill off the world by removing nutrients from food?

Secondly, assuming this 'plan' is put into action, how do they propose to regulate the food coming off of small farms in rural areas? Do they plan to 'remove the nutrients' from the local deer herd? The lake? Food is everywhere if you know how to take it, and everywhere is pretty darn big.

To overcome that problem would require a massive mobilization of people with 'un-nutrition guns'. You telling us EVERY ONE of them keeps their mouth shut about this? The world will find out why they're all starving. And pissing off the 95% of the world who was kept in the dark about this can only lead to good, happy, non-revolting masses. Right?

So A.) The idea is patently ridiculous, B.) Implementation details? Sketchy. And C.) The world would overthrow the governments if it came to it...

by law? maybe not, by Monsanto/ConAgra, certainly, check to see
what food patents they hold, I was given some cracked corn for
my livestock, the chickens and goats wouldnt touch it, I gave
them some that came from a known source and they had no problem
eating it, a bee keeper near me has a problem with his bees
collecting pollen from a field he leases to, modified foods

patented seeds that wont allow reproduction that way you keep your
market share and increase it every year, if I grow their corn I
cant harvest the seeds and plant them for the next year, they're
sterile, since man has shown he's not the brightest with regards
to what he consumes I'll listen to the bees and the chickens

of course. We're slowly losing touch of our animal instincts but at the same time, we are more primal than ever.

Monsanto's kinda scary but it's not like they're trying to take over the world or anything.  They just want what any corporation wants: more profits.
