i think i might have a peresk...(help?)

i found this cactus some time ago that really resembles pereskiopsis but it is kinda bloated and what would be the leaves are litle rounded tubes... it seems to grow from where the leaves where if cut, like the spines of a cactus

and also has some kinda fur in under the leaves, which i take for spines...

also, it's light green and the thickest part is maybe 2cm thick(almost 1 inch)

anybody thinks might be a peskiopsis? i really can't find photos for id

the problem is that they're the two 'common' species, which are easy to find pics of... but there seem to be more species to the genus...so i would like to know if it is possible that there is a pereskiopsis species with very thin and small leaves, and round, not flat...

I think I know the plant you´re talking about when you say the leaves are like 'rounded tubes'.

yeah, kinda like that, but the leaves are way smaller than the trunk... i can't get a pic now though

(never figured it could be an opuntia..)

well, i guess it's opuntia then, thanks for the help

made a list of similar species:
opuntia monacantha
opuntia fragilis
opuntia salmiana
opuntia chaffeyi

If I remember correctly, Pereskiopsis is very close in genetic relation to Opuntia. Both species(Generally, barring some species of Opuntia), grow very quickly, have glochids, and bear primitive leaf like structures(Although they are very small on most Opuntia).
