Geographical distribution of Cubies vs. Coplandia
    #855031 - 08/31/02 12:46 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

Hi folks -

I promise I looked hard to find an answer to this potentially DUMB question. I had no luck finding a specific answer, so I'm here now to ask it to you.

Background info: I'm living on the island of Borneo in equatorial SE Asia . My indoor efforts have been successful, but I'm gearing up for some outdoor cultivation in hopes of letting Mother nature share some of the workload.

I'm trying to decide which species to grow so 'The Question' is: What is the geographical distribution of Cubies versus Copelandia, and even more specifically, are either species known to occur on the island of Borneo?

Just to demonstrate to the old hands that I have researched this issue, here's what I DO know: From looking at the outdoor cultivation FAQs, I know if I were looking to raise penguins that I'd be up shit creek. I also know cubies grow in Thailand - been there & done that. I also know that Copelandia grows in Australia. I've visited some local pastures during what i would consider to be 'ideal' conditions, but I've found nothing that resembles a Cubie. While there are some shrooms resembling Copelandias, they ain't blueing and I'm betting they're not very magical nor mysterious, nor will they provide me with much of a tour (other than say, one of the local hospital).

Any information or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the link, but for some reason I don't see any pics or any hyperlinks leading to pics. Are you sure there are pics at that site? - I guess my browser could be outdated....
