Crazy mycelium
    #851084 - 08/29/02 10:42 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

I forgot about my jars for a few days, and many of the jars are about 90% colonized. I flipped them about 2 days ago, now they have mycelia growing around 1/4 of an inch tall at the top of the jar. Is this overlay (I didnt add any water)
So, what gives? Anyone have this happen, is it normal?

Do you mean you opned your jars to find myc. growing all over your dry verm layer? And overlay is when the substrate you use beings to pull away from the sides of whatever you are casing in. When you birth them, dunk them in water over night and throw them bitchs in the fridge. It will re-hydrate whatever water was lost during colonization

Yes I read the FAQ, And Im still not sure. What I'm seeing is not your garden variety growth that is slow bright white and
not to thick. Im seeing bright white thick growth at the edges of the growth and the un-colonized substrate. What do you think?
I know its probably nothing the jars look healthy besides this crazy growth.
