No growth after 10 days in terrarium
    #351332 - 06/29/01 09:49 AM (23 years, 9 months ago)

OK...of all the times I've done this I haven't encountered this problem before though it seems to be pretty common. I've had my PF Ecuador cakes in my terraium for ten days now (I put them in after incubating for 20 days) and all I'm getting is thick, cottony, fuzzy mycelium. Prior to birthing the cakes I had really nice rhizomorphic growth on all of them, without any fuzz. My temperature is a consistent 78 degrees and humidity is always over 90%, with exposure to light for 12 hours on/12 hours off. The conditions seem optimal, so I'm stumped as to what it could be. Ideas?

If the Mycelieu is getting hard and thick, you need to break the cake up and case it, because this condition is very similiar to overlay with a casing. The mycelium gets to thick to allow pinn formation. My advise would be to brweak this cake up and case it in a small container of somesorts.

on the pf tek it says that the fuzzy mycelium growth is good and it happens when the cake is introduced to fresh air. i dont know too much about it since its never happened to me.

hey, you got to be genuine thats the name of this game. if you're real, then you aint got nothing to worry about, but if youre synthetic then starting tomorrow you're balls come off!
